The City comes to life during these special, long-awaited months, and there are endless ways to beat the heat and enjoy the diverse experiences all five boroughs have to offer. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, let us guide you on a memorable journey through the city’s vibrant and lively summer scene through our interactive map. 

• Celeste recommends alternating outdoor fun and cooler activities (i.e. air-conditioned). One of her favorite combinations is walking along the Brooklyn Bridge then picking up an ice cream (preferably peach) at Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory!
• Want a fun way to explore new neighborhoods, while also scratching the itch to shop? Check out some local thrift stores! Amairani recommends the East Village Thrift Shop, Buffalo Exchange, and the Grand Bazaar on the Upper West Side.
• When there’s a punk show playing, Ava loves to head to Tompkins Square Park! Other summer venues that make the most of New York’s incredible public parks include the Central Park Summer Stage and the Prospect Park Bandshell where BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! holds a series of free, accessible concerts.
• For a mixed-media art and dance block party, Susana recommends checking out Uptown Bounce hosted by El Museo del Barrio in East Harlem.
• Margaret’s favorite post-work activity: taking the tram to Roosevelt Island for a picnic! Experience the most modern aerial tramway in the world, and relax at a tranquil waterside park.
• Summer in New York City wouldn’t be complete without baseball. Check out a Cyclones game in Coney Island or catch the Mets play at Citi Field this season!
