The New Rochelle Public Library (NRPL) Board of Trustees engaged Public Works Partners to develop a five-year strategic plan for the library to implement from 2022-2026.

Our Strategy

We designed a multi-faceted, accessible engagement strategy that solicited feedback from a broad cross-section of New Rochelle residents.

Through a public working session, a focus group with NRPL Staff, two public town hall meetings, a committee working session, a public survey, and a range of hybrid activities to follow COVID-19 safety precautions, we facilitated a high-touch engagement process that engaged the library’s core audience and reached community members who have historically been underrepresented in accessing the library’s services.

Impact
and Outcome

Our team analyzed the input gathered from our engagement efforts, in addition to library usage data and a building audit, to develop the Library’s new strategic plan.

The Plan positions the NRPL as an anchor institution – a community hub where all may gather – and proposes key goals and objectives that build on the Library’s good work to date and how they hope to grow over the next five years to meet their community’s needs.
