Public Works Partners worked with the Conrad Hilton Foundation in 2015 to develop the funding strategy for the initial program. We were engaged four years later to help the Foundation determine how the successful Hospitality Workforce Development program should evolve.
To support this effort, we performed labor market research and held expert interviews with employers, funders, and service providers. With the advent of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Public Works Partners helped the foundation broaden their scope to include healthcare as a new sector, providing recommendations for target markets, priority occupations and career pathways, and strategies for employer engagement to support their new domestic opportunity youth strategy.
Relying on the firm’s expertise in workforce development, Public Works complemented its work around target sectors and pathways for opportunity youth by advising the Foundation on national policy and advocacy efforts to enable disconnected youth to gain and stay in jobs, and providing input on initial metrics of success. The foundation is currently working towards rolling out this new strategy.
