Our Strategy
As the stakeholder engagement lead, Public Works devised a multifaceted stakeholder engagement strategy to identify and hone opportunities for investment.
We planned and developed communications materials for multiple audiences including elected officials, local property owners, nonprofit leaders, and neighborhood residents. We also developed multiple engagement methods to gather critical public feedback on proposed projects, such as deliberately guided committee meetings for key stakeholders, clear and accessible content on the project website, and detailed presentation materials at our public meetings for interested members of the public.
Impact
and Outcome
Our engagement approach and findings directly informed the final allocation of funding for the Syracuse DRI.
Our multifaceted approach to public engagement was essential to the selection process since New York State relies heavily on stakeholder feedback to guide its final funding determinations.
