The Fed Reserve Released a New Report Highlighting Worker Voices
The Fed Communities released “Worker Voices: Shifting Perspectives and Expectations on Employment,” a collaborative research report by the Federal Reserve. The report aimed to better understand workers’ perspectives and how they can help inform workforce policies going forward. Public Works Partners collaborated with the Federal Reserve Banks of Philadelphia and Atlanta to facilitate conversations with workers across the United States. The goal was to capture their insights and challenges in navigating the labor market during the height of the pandemic. Through our conversations, we learned that the tight labor market has not benefited all workers equally. Workers also now have enhanced expectations of job quality, and they are actively reinventing themselves through skill development and self-investment to change their economic opportunities.
