As Senior Manager, Benjamin ensures that projects meet client goals and create value for the communities that our clients serve. He has worked across the public, private, and social sectors and appreciates the importance of investing in partnerships to expand impact. For Volvo Group North America, Benjamin is working on the development of an electric truck charging hub in Hunt’s Point funded by a NYSERDA clean energy grant, leading the project management and community engagement of an innovative multi-faceted solution. He has also served as Engagement Lead on organizational design and business planning projects, where he leverages his cross-sectoral knowledge to create sustainable solutions for our clients.
Prior to joining Public Works, Benjamin was an Executive Director at the NYC Department of Small Businesses Services. In this role, Benjamin created initiatives to support small businesses across New York City, providing services focused on financial education, regulatory and legal support, and emergency preparedness. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Benjamin led the build-out of business resiliency programming in collaboration with community stakeholders and city, state, and federal agencies.
Benjamin holds a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where he specialized in sustainable energy policy and management. A Swiss-American dual citizen, Benjamin completed his Bachelor’s degree in Switzerland at the University of St. Gallen and served as a sergeant in the Swiss Army.
