As a Project Coordinator in the Community Health practice, Ruthy supports planning projects from an interdisciplinary approach in their research and deliverables for the organization. Additionally, Ruthy is the first Los Angeles-based Project Coordinator. They work closely with Principal Melissa Lee to build out the Southern California wing of Public Works Partners. They are a touchpoint for cultivating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the region.
Prior to joining Public Works, Ruthy was the Urban Planning Intern at Public Matters where they supported the Boo Boo Bandage Brigade, a coalition for the betterment of public way infrastructure in Los Angeles. Ruthy was also the Political Director for Project Super Bloom, a youth-led PAC to support progressive candidates in the California State Legislature. They led the endorsements wing and oversaw organizing strategies for youth engagement for each campaign. Prior to these roles, Ruthy was the Campaign Manager for John Yi for California State Assembly, District 54. Through these experiences, Ruthy is uniquely qualified in navigating the socio-political landscape of California, in particular the Los Angeles region.
Ruthy is a current Master of Urban Planning graduate student concentrating in Climate Change and Sustainability at the University of Southern California (Fight on!). They hold a B.A. in American Politics & Government from the University of Puget Sound.
