About Emily

Emily is a Project Manager on the Organizational Health team, supporting city agencies, nonprofits, and other mission-driven organizations to improve program operations and services. For Goodwill of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ), Emily helped two departments redesign their performance management processes by standardizing reporting tools and templates across programs. She worked with GWNYNJ program leads to identify KPIs and collaborated with other Public Works staff to design and implement user-friendly, automated tools that enabled program staff and executive leadership to track the health and performance of their programs over the course of the fiscal year. Emily also works on many technical assistance and training projects at Public Works. She has led workshops for NeON Works staff around improving facilitation strategies and helped write a curriculum toolkit designed to help NeON Works programs evaluate and revise their current educational programming to improve engagement and outcomes.

Prior to joining the Public Works team, Emily was an English language instructor, teacher trainer, and curriculum developer at educational institutions in South Korea, Malaysia, and New York City. As an English Language Fellow in Malaysia, she worked with the US Embassy to host the first free English Language Conference for Pre- and In-Service English teachers, a conference model that was later replicated across the region. She returned to the States after 5 years of living abroad, using her experience in adult education to manage workforce development programs in the private and public sectors.

Emily graduated with distinction from the University of Kansas with a BA in Women’s Studies (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) and completed her MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Teachers College, Columbia University.
