About Alex

As a Senior Manager on the Client Services team, Alex acts as Engagement Lead across several organizational health projects. Drawing on years of experience in the nonprofit and public sector, he brings to Public Works a deep sensitivity to his clients’ needs and the realities they face in their day-to-day work. Alex advised the NYC Mayor’s Office of Contract Services on implementing the Indirect Cost Rate Initiative, helping health and human service providers secure indirect cost rates for city contracts. He supported provider communications, reviewed submissions, and collaborated with the City’s implementation team to streamline processes. He also contributed to process improvements, financial audits, and developed a provider feedback survey to enhance efficiency and equity. Alex joined Public Works Partners in 2022 as a Manager and was promoted to Senior Manager in 2025.

Prior to joining Public Works Partners, Alex served as a lead analyst on the CDBG-DR Task Force at the New York City Office of Management and Budget (NYC OMB) where he managed a $3 billion federal grant funding vital disaster response and climate resiliency programs across the five boroughs. Before his time at OMB, Alex lead in the development of a public policy agenda and strategy for RIP Medical Debt, a nonprofit eliminating personal medical debt by purchasing large bundles of debt using private donations. Alex also held a number of nonprofit consulting roles, first at Freedman Consulting LLC., where he supported major foundations in developing and implementing innovative strategies and programs, and, more recently, at BDO FMA where he provided fiscal and operational advisory services to nonprofits and CBOs across the New York City metropolitan area.

Alex holds an MPA from the Wagner School for Public Service at New York University and a B.A. in Politics from Bates College.
