Public Works is Prepared: Announcing our Emergency Management & Planning Service Area!

Public Works Partners recently launched a new service area, Emergency Management & Planning, to better support our clients as they take on the biggest challenges facing our communities, including the public health crisis, economic inequality, and climate change. The past year has confirmed for us just how essential preparation and planning are, and we are excited to apply our management expertise to support efforts that help NYC recover, improve, and prepare for whatever may come. We are also excited to announce that through this new service we are working as a subcontractor with Hagerty Consulting to support NYC Emergency Management as they design and implement recovery strategies to contend with the impacts of COVID-19. Our newest team members, Kethia Joseph and Jordan Cosby, will bring their expertise in mitigation planning, resilience, and economic development to this new opportunity. We’re looking forward to all that we will learn through this engagement and others as we explore this area.

We’ve grown! Please help us welcome Kethia (Kat) Joseph and Jordan Cosby, who will lead our new Emergency Management & Planning service area. Kat, who has joined Public Works as a Senior Manager, comes to us after over five years at the Neighborhood Planning Division for the NYC Department of Small Business Services, where she oversaw the Division’s place-based programs. Jordan, our newest Manager, has a background in resiliency planning and climate change mitigation strategies built through her work with UNICEF and the World Resources Institute. We’re looking for an analyst-level consultant with a knack for problem-solving, research, and writing to join the Public Works team. This person is a strategic and analytical team member who will play a significant role in high-profile engagements with clients. The role is ideal for someone with three years of experience in the public and/or nonprofit sector, familiarity with New York City and State systems, and experience conducting economic analysis.
