Jake is an analyst supporting Public Works’ Community Health practice, where he focuses on research, data analysis, and geographic information systems (GIS) to support planning and policy work. His role centers on synthesizing input from community engagement efforts, translating large and complex datasets into clear findings, and supporting written deliverables that inform public decision-making.
Since joining Public Works in 2021, Jake has worked on a range of projects for municipal agencies and community-based organizations. His experience includes leading research, analysis, and early drafting for the City of Hudson’s Comprehensive Plan, analyzing and mapping public comments for the Brooklyn bus network redesign, and conducting spatial analysis of garment manufacturing in Los Angeles for the Los Angeles Garment Worker Center. He also contributed to a landscape analysis of food procurement in New York City for the Mayor’s Office of Food Policy. He regularly works with open data, including the NYC Open Data portal and OpenStreetMap, and brings strong familiarity with New York City procurement and other public-sector processes.
Jake holds a BA in Metropolitan Studies and Economics from New York University and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Hunter College. As of 2025, he is a Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines (WEDG) associate.
