About Sarafina
As a Manager on our Client Services team, she leverages her experience in qualitative research and community engagement methods to advance a range of projects for nonprofit and government clients focused on multi-modal transportation, economic development, workforce development, and more inclusive approaches to the city’s climate transition. She approaches this work with a sharp eye towards community-centered economic development.
Sarafina first joined Public Works Partners as an Analyst in 2021. Before returning, she served on the NYC Department of City Planning’s Transportation Policy and Analytics Division team, where she focused on industrial and freight land use policy. She holds a Master of City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Urban Studies from Wesleyan University, with a focus on urban anthropology. Her approach to planning was shaped by academic and professional work spanning from London to Cape Town, Mexico City, Boston, and Tangshan, China.
