The PACT Resource Team has released an RFQ for qualified service providers
LISC NYC and Public Works Partners released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to establish a pool of experienced technical assistance providers as the PACT Resource Team. The PACT Resource Team will support New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) residents to plan for the future of their communities as their housing developments receive investment through the Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT) program. PACT is a critical tool that, through partnerships with private and non-profit development partners, allows NYCHA to not only modernize homes but also provide enhanced community services and amenities. You can learn more about the Resource Team and the RFQ on the LISC NYC website, and can access the full application on the application portal. Please help us spread the word by sharing this exciting opportunity with service providers in your network.

What We’re Doing
Nor’easter Thoughts: Community Engagement in the Winter
Engaging stakeholders in the winter can pose some unexpected roadblocks, from scant passersby willing to stop to learn about a new project or share feedback, to fewer public events to meet with community members, to unexpected weather conditions. Given these challenges, implementing a wide reaching and equitable engagement strategy in the winter requires creativity, forethought, determination, and sometimes a little bit of luck. Simon Rosenblum-Larson has pulled together lessons learned and suggestions, from our experiences collecting stakeholder feedback in the frozen New York winter in his latest for the Public Works IQ.

We’re Here to Support Your Next Research and Evaluation Project
Public Works Partners is committed to strengthening the organizations that strengthen our communities. We’re therefore pleased to announce the expansion of our Research & Evaluation service area. Under the leadership of Public Works Director Aurelia Aceves Hogan, this service expansion centers around agile assessments which evaluate program impact and efficiency, provide for performance management and optimization, and offer actionable feedback for clients, as well as increased resources for outcome-oriented qualitative research, stakeholder surveys, and implementation studies. Research & Evaluation is one of core services under our Organizational Health practice.
Our recent Research & Evaluation projects include:
-
Conducted an implementation study and developed training materials to support the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia as they researched strategies to improve early care and education systems.
-
Led qualitative and quantitative research efforts to support the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment to develop economic impact studies of the Digital Games industry and the Film and Television industry, and
-
Conducted an agile assessment to support the Fund for Public Schools as they prepared to launch a new pilot program.

One More Thing
In celebration of Black History Month, we are highlighting the work of Black planners and urbanists who have had an outsized impact on planning. We’re kicking things off with a look at St. Clair Drake, author, anthropologist, sociologist, and co-author of Black Metropolis, a groundbreaking study of social structures and Black-white race relations in mid-century Chicago.
